A is for Aristotle

Aristotle said, ” The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.” Pretty hefty you might say. I’m fascinated by art, all kinds. Perhaps that’s why I write, why I paint. Not great at either in the worldly sense. Successful? Measured, in my view, by the level of enjoyment. Perhaps if I were as wise as Aristotle, I wouldn’t need to pursue this love of  art, but if I didn’t….well, I don’t think I could breathe.
